Diabetic

What is a diabetes panel? Diabetic panel is a group of blood tests to provide a comprehensive assessment of blood sugar levels and may be used to assist in the diagnosis of diabetes or to monitor diabetes treatment. Generally diabetic panel includes the Glucose test and the Hemoglobin A1C test. Glucose is a measurement of fasting blood sugar. The determination of HbA1C is most commonly performed for the evaluation of glycemic control in diabetes mellitus. HbA1C values provide an indication of glucose levels over the preceding 4-8 weeks.
Microalbumin is another test used to assess the health of patients with diabetes. Microalbumin in urine is a test to detect very small levels of a blood protein (albumin) in your urine. A microalbumin test is used to detect early signs of kidney damage in people who are at risk of developing kidney disease.
